How to Touch Up BB Cream? – Learn to touch up your BB cream

How to reapply BB cream on your face

If you’re a beauty junkie (like me), it can be tough to find time for touch-ups for great coverage of your skin. That’s why many of us excuse ourselves so much to go to the bathroom (don’t let guys in on the secret that we pee and poo too!). But how do you get the job done without looking like a cake face disaster? Read on!

Yes, a cake face disaster. I don’t tell you this because it is funny, but because it happens to some people (and happened to me too). So, you ask yourself “how to touch up BB cream on your skin?” You came to the right place! Below you’ll find all the answers you need (and hopefully some more!

Can you reapply BB on your skin?

Sometimes you just want to reapply your BB cream. You look in the mirror and find some spots that need some extra love. But, can you reapply BB cream? The answer is simple: Yes you can reapply BB cream and it is not hard to do at all.

You can simply put some dollops of BB cream on your face with your fingers wherever you want to cover up your BB cream. Then use a beauty sponge (or if you only have your fingers, use your fingers) and start blending it in.

Below I’ll go into a bit more detail about how to touch up your BB cream for great coverage and how to make your skin look radiant.

Now, I have to mention that sometimes reapplying BB cream is not the best thing you can do and that’s when you’ve used a setting powder. Using a liquid or a cream over a powder can cause some of an undesired look and not match well with the texture of your skin. But, no worries, there is something you can do.

Instead of using your BB cream again, you can also use a refreshing spray if you want to freshen up. Simply go in with the spray and after you can grab your powder and use it to reset your makeup to just the way you like it.

The refreshing spray gives the powder something to stick to and it helps mesh the new and older makeup together.

Now, don’t go overboard with this and use it multiple times a day (that can ruin your makeup), but sometimes this can help you tremendously!

how to touch up your bb cream

As said earlier, giving your BB cream a touch-up for coverage is not something that would take you ages or is hard to do. Touching up only consists of 2 steps…

1) Put a couple of drops of BB cream on your finger (make sure your finger is clean!) and dab it on the areas of your face where you feel a touch-up for your coverage is needed.

If you are doing touch-ups, don’t put too much on your skin. Only put it where you want to touch up your coverage.

2) Then, grab a damp beauty sponge to blend the product into your skin. Now, as said earlier, you can also use your fingers if you don’t have a beauty blender on you. But when you do, please make sure that your hands are clean and that you apply the BB cream in a circular motion. If you do that, you are practically guaranteed optimal coverage ;)!

See? It isn’t hard to get better coverage with your BB cream and look fresh again. Just make sure you have your product and a beauty sponge with you. Find a mirror and go ahead.

how to find the time to redo your makeup cream?

Now, this might sound boring, but one of the best things you can do is plan ahead. With this, I mean that you know where you are going and you know what stuff you need. For touching up BB cream you only need your cream and a beauty blender so make sure your grab that with you!

The second thing that is handy is knowing how much time you normally need for a touch-up. If you know that it only takes you 5 minutes, then it’s much easier to find the time to do this than when it takes you 20 minutes.

Look, in an ideal world you can touch up where you want and how often you want, but that’s not always the case…

How often should you touch up?

That really depends on you. There’s no right answer to this question because we are all different. But, there are some “rules” that you can follow to get yourself the right touch-up as quickly as possible and probably when you need it the most. But keep it at a realistic level. You don’t want to lose your health over the product on your skin

  1. Touch up your BB cream a couple of hours after the first application and check it every 3 to 4 hours.
  2. When your skin feels shiny or oily it is time to at least check and maybe give your skin some love.
  3. After a huge kissing session with your boyfriend, it might be time to check your makeup ;).
  4. After exercising is always a good time to check if everything is still in place.
  5. In a cafe? You can simply check when you need to go to the restroom. There’s almost always a mirror in there.
  6. At dinner in a restaurant? The perfect opportunity is in between meals

See? It’s not hard, but sometimes (not often) it needs a bit of planning ahead. The best planning you can do is simply bring the items that you need with you!

Why does BB cream need redoing sometimes anyway?

The answer is simple (at least for me, but I think it’s easy for you too). I want to look great and want to be certain that I look great! Nothing more, nothing less.

Sometimes makeup (or BB creams), wears off, and you simply need to fix it up so that the makeup on your face looks great again and has a great finish. You and the people around you can enjoy your radiant face :).
